Independence of Judges
Why active judges are kept out of politics and how they can step back into civic competition later.
Liberland treats judicial independence as a practical safeguard. A person who is applying to judge or who is already approved may still improve the wellbeing of the community and may still earn Virtues, but an acting judge does not compete for political office while serving in that role.
In practice, if an acting judge would otherwise qualify for a Congress seat, that person is skipped and the next eligible candidate receives the seat instead. This separation is meant to reduce conflicts of interest and preserve confidence that judges are not mixing dispute resolution with active political power.
Judges can renounce the judicial role at any time. Once they step down, they become eligible to participate in politics again under the normal community rules.
