Appointment of Judges

How people apply to judge and how citizen trust votes determine who may actively serve.

Judges in Liberland are expected to be people the community trusts. Relevant education and experience can strengthen an application, but the ultimate approval body is the citizenry rather than a closed legal guild.

Any community member can apply to become a judge. Once they do, their profile appears in the system as an applying judge and citizens can decide whether to support them. These trust votes determine who is allowed to move from applicant status into active judicial service.

As long as a candidate holds 50 or more citizen support votes, they are entitled to serve as an acting judge and may be selected by parties to resolve disputes. This keeps the role open to new candidates while still requiring visible public confidence.
