The Jurisdiction
Why Liberland sees its community and governing systems as the core of the country, even before a settled territory exists.
Liberland begins with Liberlanders themselves. In this view, the community and the nation are what make the country in the first place, not territory alone. A functioning jurisdiction can exist as a lived civic system even while the search for a permanent territorial home is still underway.
For that community, the Liberland government develops policies, systems, and services intended to support peaceful co-living, voluntary adoption, and community growth. It also builds incentives and administrative structures meant to help the community expand responsibly over time.
This jurisdiction is available for people to adopt, but Liberlanders do not yet have a place where they can live entirely according to Liberland's principles and rely only on Liberland's jurisdiction in everyday life. Work toward such a place is still ongoing.
