President Jedlička’s acceptance speech follows:
Distinguished guests, Mr. Gareth Bacon, representatives of the Movastacon Foundation,
I am deeply honoured to accept this Global Excellence in Leadership Award here in the magnificent space inside of the British parliament. This recognition is not just a reflection of my personal efforts but of the dedication, resilience, and vision of the people of Liberland. Our journey is rooted in the belief that freedom, innovation and collaboration can create a society where opportunity knows no boundaries.
Last week I received an award on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday in Oxford. There are many things to learn from his legacy. Many people ask me why I started a new country. I sometimes remember his famous quote: “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
With Liberland, we are building a new model of statehood building on a voluntary tax system built on removing the potential conflict between the state and its citizens. We believe that citizenship should be an asset, not a liability. We believe that citizens should be true shareholders of the country they live in.
We also believe in full transparency of state utilising blockchain technology as an immutable system of running state affairs. As we hold the first important elections this weekend, I am proud to announce that the system works as envisioned and Liberland has become the first sovereign state in the world to fully utilise blockchain in its affairs. I am also excited that the Prime Minister role was taken by none other than famous entrepreneur and diplomat Justin Sun.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to shadow minister of justice Mr. Bacon and the Movastacon Foundation for this incredible honour. It strengthens my resolve to continue working towards a future where leadership means empowering others, where liberty and responsibility are intertwined, and where we build a legacy of positive change for generations to come.
Thank you.
