Liberland is writing history in space exploration, from sending a digital copy of its flag to the Moon and sending its Prime Minister among the few humans ever to reach orbit, to preparing the first commercial mission to a near-Earth asteroid. Citizens now have the unique chance to engrave their names on the national flag that will journey beyond Earth.
1. First Lunar Mission — 2 March 2025
Liberland’s flag was delivered to the Moon as a digital file aboard Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost lander under NASA’s CLPS program, touching down near Mons Latreille in Mare Crisium—a proud leap for our young nation.
2. Second Lunar Mission — Planned for Late 2025
A second lunar mission is scheduled later this year, again carrying a physical Liberland flag to reinforce our symbolic mark on the Moon.
The names of the Liberlanders who have supported the project and will be carried to the Moon are:
Navid Saberin, Kenny Li, Vít Jedlička, Peter Zalar, Joby Weeks, Dasha Weeks, Jan Schluter
3. Prime Minister Justin Sun’s Spaceflight — 3 August 2025
On 3 August 2025, Prime Minister Justin Sun became the youngest Chinese-born commercial astronaut, flying aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard NS-34. Justin is also the first head of state to travel to space.
His flight placed him among the select 624 individuals who have ever reached Earth orbit—a significant milestone for both him and Liberland’s aspirations in space governance .
4. First Commercial Asteroid Mission — The Lifeship
Now, Liberland is embarking on its most daring adventure yet: a commercial Lifeship mission to a near-Earth asteroid.
On this mission, the Liberland flag—bearing engravings of citizen names—will travel into deep space, marking the first commercial asteroid mission to carry a national flag, and highlighting our pioneering spirit.
Citizen Honor: Your Name on the Asteroid Flag
All new citizens who finalize their citizenship by 4 September 2025, and all existing citizens who contribute at least US$2,000, will have their names engraved on the Liberland flag that journeys to the asteroid—cementing your place in history among the stars.
Governance That Works on Earth and in Space
Blockchain Governance: Powered by Substrate, Liberland’s governance is decentralized, transparent, and traceable via LLD and LLM tokens—ideal for autonomous operation in far-off space settlements.
Voluntary Taxation: A model where participation brings rights—not coercion—fitting for both Earth and extraterrestrial communities.
