Beach Bar and Fully Constructed Treehouse Open

LIBERTY ISLAND, LIBERLAND – The first beach bar and fully constructed treehouse opens in Liberland,

This is marking another step in the ongoing development of the permanent Liberlander habitation on Liberty Island.

Since August 2023, Liberland has maintained a continuous and growing presence on its territory, with a variable permanent population. That population currently numbers 15 committed residents and new Liberlanders arriving regularly. The opening of the beach bar and treehouse reflects the community’s resilience and pioneering spirit — even in the face of logistical and environmental challenges.

Built entirely by hand by a dedicated team of Liberlanders, the beach bar and treehouse provide both a gathering place and a symbol of Liberland’s practical progress toward a sustainable, free society.

“Liberland is no longer just an idea — it is a living, breathing community,” said President Vít Jedlička. “We now have real people living here, building infrastructure, and creating a unique and free society on the Danube. The beach bar and treehouse are more than just recreational structures — they’re proof that freedom works.”

The beach bar officially opened on Wednesday 23rd, with events planned in the coming weeks including a cooking competition, the Floating Man Festival, and the Liberland Chess Open. These events showcase the active and growing cultural life of the nation.

One of the residents, who helped build the new structures, expressed the optimism felt by many on the island:

“We’ve worked through rain, heat, and mud — and now we’re serving drinks on the Danube under a treehouse we built ourselves. It’s not always easy here, but right now, it’s amazing,” said Jan, a Czechia born Liberlander.
