First state to run its meritocratic government on the Blockchain - you can participate today
Since its founding in 2015, Liberland has pioneered a bold idea: a sovereign nation built on blockchain. From voting to business registration, the entire governance of Liberland happens digitally—and transparently—on-chain. Even land titles and legal rights are to be issued as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and you can already register them today.
At the heart of this ecosystem is the Liberland Blockchain, a public Layer-1 network built using Substrate, the same powerful framework behind Polkadot. This chain is secured, open, and governed by the people. It uses two native tokens:
- LLD (Liberland Dollar): for payments and economic activity
- LLM (Liberland Merit): for political power and participation
- NFTs: hold, trade, or make a new one!
To explore it yourself, visit blockchain.liberland.org. While most functions are view-only for non-citizens, anyone can install the Liberland Wallet (see the “Wallet” tab), stake LLD as a Nominator, and earn rewards—similar to earning interest in a savings account, but decentralized.
Liberland Dollar (LLD)
Where to Get LLD
Liberland Dollar (LLD) is already widely available. You can buy it on both centralized exchanges like MEXC, Coinstore, Emirex, BitMart, Bifinance, and Biconomy, and decentralized platforms such as Uniswap, Raydium, and Sunswap.
LLD is:
- Fast and secure
- Easy to store in most major crypto wallets
- Integrated into the Liberland economy
Soon, LLM will also be listed, expanding citizens’ ability to engage politically.
Payments Made Easy
Liberland is currently finalizing a modular, open-source payment gateway, which will soon be available on GitHub. Businesses and developers will be able to integrate this tool into websites, online shops, or the Liberland Market—an e-commerce space for Liberland-based entrepreneurs.
More importantly, LLD will be accepted for every transaction involving Liberland: from company registration to citizenship procedures. This helps create a true LLD economy—where digital cash meets political freedom.
Smart Tokenomics
Inspired by economist Milton Friedman, Liberland has designed its tokenomics to be:
- Modest in initial supply
- Inflation-limited
- Governed by token holders
The result? A national currency that serves you, with the comfort of fiat money, but the freedom, security, and privacyof crypto.
Latest LLD Developments
- LLD is listed on both Bifinance and Biconomy, with additional listings on the horizon to increase the user accessibility
- Liberland passports are now accepted for KYC on Bifinance and Biconomy, allowing you to verify your identity without relying on legacy documents.
- LLD is now supported on Ledger, enabling secure, hardware-based custody of your assets.
- Solana Pay integration is live, making it possible to use LLD for real-world purchases. Watch President Vít Jedlička buy a Ledger wallet using LLD in this video.
Liberland Companies
Are you an e-resident? If yes, you can register a company on Liberland’s blockchain in minutes.
Here’s how it works:
- Visit the Liberland Market and select your company type.
- Pay a small one-time fee (usually between 1–250 LLD, often free for simple setups).
- Sign the “Goodboi” contract (most users do).
- Your company is now live—on-chain and sovereign.
Liberland companies face minimal bureaucracy and no forced taxes. You are bound only by Liberland’s voluntary and transparent rules. This makes Liberland one of the most business-friendly environments in the world, especially for:
- Tech firms
- Crypto developers
- Web3 startups
Liberland entities can:
- Hold and trade assets
- Issue tokens or shares
- Sign enforceable smart contracts
- Use blockchain-based identity and compliance tools
Please note: When doing business abroad, local laws of that country still apply.
A Government You Can See
Transparency is fundamental to Liberland.
Even if you’re not a citizen, you can scroll down on the Liberland Blockchain site and view:
- Congress Members and their Motions
- Senate decisions and reserves
- Ministries’ budgets and reports, including the Ministry of Finance’s real-time treasury overview
If you’re a citizen, you can:
- Vote on legislation and candidates
- Run for office (e.g., Congress)
- Propose referenda
- Participate in direct democracy
All of this is done through the LLM token and documented at docs.liberland.org.
Investing in the Danube Region
Liberland’s vision is not just digital. In 2025, it launched a $30 million regional development initiative to support Croatian and Serbian communities near its territory. The plan includes:
- Reviving local shipyards
- Building coworking hubs and tech incubators
- Installing solar energy parks
- Promoting eco-tourism
Half the funds go to Croatian communities, and half to Serbian ones. This is not about isolation—it’s a regional partnership for mutual growth.
Liberland may even tokenize development projects, letting citizens and e-residents invest directly and transparently in the region’s growth—owning digital shares in the real economy.
The Bigger Picture: Freedom as a System
Everything in Liberland is designed around liberty as a practical system, not just a slogan.
- Its blockchain runs on proven technology (Polkadot’s Substrate).
- Its currency is listed and usable globally.
- Its government is visible, auditable, and on-chain.
- Its businesses enjoy sovereignty and low red tape.
- Its citizens hold power through smart contracts and tokens.
Liberland is more than a country. It’s a sandbox for a freer world—where governance, money, and law run on code instead of bureaucracy. Whether you’re a libertarian, tech enthusiast, or just curious, Liberland offers a glimpse into a future where freedom is programmable.
