Liberland Participates in 2025 UN International Day of Conscience at Vienna HQ

Vienna, 2 April 2025 — The Free Republic of Liberland marked a significant milestone in its diplomatic outreach and international presence by participating in the 2025 United Nations International Day of Conscience celebration, held at the Vienna Headquarters during the World Leader Summit of Love and Peace. This global event brought together statesmen, thought leaders, and representatives from across the world to reaffirm the central role of conscience in shaping peace, justice, and mutual understanding among nations.

Representing Liberland at this high-level summit, the President of the Republic delivered a formal address, positioning the young microstate as a champion of liberty, dialogue, and moral responsibility on the world stage. His letter, read at the Vienna UN HQ, articulated a vision of global peace anchored in personal conscience and individual freedom—principles that are foundational to the Liberland experiment.

“In Liberland, a nation founded on the principles of personal liberty and minimal governance,” stated the President, “we believe that true peace begins with the individual.” He emphasized that conscience is not merely a private moral compass, but a civic force capable of inspiring societies rooted in respect, love, and justice.

The address resonated strongly with the spirit of the summit, which called on world leaders to move beyond ceremonial declarations and instead awaken a culture of peace through concrete actions. Liberland’s message stood out by offering a philosophical and libertarian perspective on conscience as the grounding principle of a free and harmonious society.

As the world grapples with conflict, inequality, and ecological strain, the President’s words called for an alternative path—one that rejects coercion in favour of example, innovation, and open dialogue. “Liberland stands ready to contribute,” he affirmed, “not through force or coercion, but through example.”

Though still in its formative years, Liberland continues to engage with international partners to promote a model of governance based on voluntary cooperation, limited state intervention, and a profound respect for individual autonomy. Its presence at the UN International Day of Conscience signals its intent to take part in the global conversation—not as a traditional state actor wielding geopolitical power, but as a principled voice grounded in the moral value of liberty.

This year’s summit in Vienna reasserted that conscience is not a relic of personal ethics, but a tool for collective transformation. Liberland’s participation helped frame that transformation within the ideals of libertarian philosophy, offering a timely and unique contribution to a world in search of new paradigms for peace.
